scrappy pages

My 2 latest Scrapbook Pages

Me and my Mountie at the Devon County Show on Friday.  He was a real gentleman and called me Maam.  Had a lovely chat with some of his colleagues too.
I'm new to this Blogging lark, so I hope it's all right.

Here goes.....

I'm having a quiet day today, after an exhausting week,  Paignton Zoo on Wednesday and my first time on a mobility scooter.  My that was fun and I managed not to knock anyone over.  There were lots of new babies and it was nice to see that the giraffe collection has recovered from the terrible fire a few years back.  There are now 5 adults and a baby.  It was sad to see that one of the elephants has passed away.  Duchess and Gay had been together for 33 years and now Duchess is all on her own.

Support meeting on Thursday for my daughter Samantha.  Reorganising her support hours and trying to make her understand that for her to live independently, she does have to accept help and that doesn't make her 'STOOPID' as she puts it.  She is 23 and lives with learning disabilities and epilepsy, so I am very proud of the way that she copes.  She is a mad fan of Dr Who, so was so chuffed recently when I used the mimic creations CD to fulfill her dream of being the Drs Assistant.

Friday was Devon County Show and I had to walk. Mobility scooters were fully booked up from the beginning of April.  Think I will have to book one for next year, as I can hardly move today.  It was a great day though.  I got to meet the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and I must say they were all very charming and polite.  Was good to see a lot of women in their ranks too.  Horses were beautiful.

I had a lovely chat with a young girl who was celebrating her 21st birthday by helping out with grooming a pair of shire horses.  Apparently she lives with the fair but always helps out with the horses at the show.  Good on her.

If you ever get the chance it is well worth a visit...  3 days in May at Westpoint Exeter.  There were lots of craft tents with people selling their wares, but no one selling supplies.  That was a shame.  The food tent smelt diving as always,  all locally produced products from meat and cheese to chilli chocolate and rape seed cooking oil.  Bit of the old cider too.

Then last night we all went out for a family meal to celebrate my step mother in laws birthday.  I was so glad she liked the card I made her and the gift box.  She loved her pressie too so that was good.

Now for a quiet day on my own.  My husband Andrew is off at his friends today playing with their 'toy soldiers' and sorting out new game rules for their battles.  Me, chocolate, c+c, tea and all my crafting stash - BLISS....
